Chief Wendell Jones

First I would like to thank you for visiting our web site.  I have had the honor of serving as the Fire Chief of New Market for approximately 19 years and serving as a member for 36 years. For over 41 years The New Market Fire Department has been dedicated to serving our community. The department provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescue, wild land fire suppression, fire prevention programs, and public education services. The members of the New Market Volunteer Fire Department are dedicated to provide these services and promoting a safer community for all to live and strive in. Each of our members are devoted and give their time to responding to calls, training and fundraising in order to continue supporting our community.

The Fire Department provides these services through our 3 fire stations 4 pumper trucks, 1 rescue truck, 2 multipurpose EMS and wild land units, and 3 medic units. Since 1993 the New Market Volunteer Fire Department is classified as having a Class 5/9 ISO rating.

The Fire Departments Fire Suppression, EMS and Associate personnel are ready to serve you in a courteous and professional manner. We take pride in our service delivery and we use our training and skills to assist our residents, covering 110 square miles and responding to approximately 625 calls annually.

In closing, we want you to know that the men and women of the New Market Volunteer Fire Department are honored to serve our community. We hope you enjoy your visit to our website.
